Question: “Acne consultation and treatment”

Hi Mads,

First of all, once again…what an amazing web site you have! Great to see that it’s still being updated :-D

We corresponded at the end of the summer this year. I wrote to you about my acne – which I still suffer from. You have found – and proven – the holy grail of treating acne. This holy grail, I’ve tried to find it using myself as a guinea pig for the past year and a half, but I still haven’t found it :-(

As mentioned earlier, I’m pretty familiar with dietary theory and I live a very healthy life. You recommended me to continue with my diet, which I have done (only not during a trip to the East, which my skin still haven’t recovered from – the Chinese food isn’t really the most nutritional out there! :S)

My diet is filled with healthy oils – primarily from linseed, evening primrose and olives, but also fatty acids from avocados and nuts. Most of the time I eat salads or brown rice with vegetables for lunch and dinner often consists of white meat or fish with vegetables and/or pasta, rice or potatoes, etc.

In short, I sense that while your previous acne was caused by a high consumption of sugar, my acne is not caused by that (since sugar is almost completely absent from my diet). I also avoid gluten as much as possible – with the exception of rye bread, which I eat approximately 3-4 times a week. I rarely drink any alcohol.

For the past 5 years I’ve tried anything from crèmes and face wash to homeopathy and acupuncture.

Now, I’m genuinely tired (and sad about) the acne and the low self-esteem that follows with it. I don’t doubt that your expertise is extensive (as it’s described on your web site), but only when I saw that you are training to be a cosmetologist, did I gather myself enough to write this email :-)

I’m ready to better my body the last part of the way that is needed, so I can have beautiful skin (I’m sorry that I’ve written such a long email for this one simple question :-) ).

It says on your web site that you offer treatments and I’m completely ready to undergo your supervision to have nicer skin. You can dictate my diet, skincare and exercise…a sort of challenge for your expertise :-)

Is it something you want to do, have experience with and – more importantly – the facilities to do?

I really hope that you can help me

With the wish of a great day

Simon

Answer to: “Acne consultation and treatment”

Dear Simon,

Thank you very much for your email. I hope you have been well since our last email correspondence.

I thank you for the kind words about my web site. It is nice to know that my knowledge and experience can benefit others.

I am happy that you live as healthily as you describe. It will definitely give your body a boost of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that will keep you youthful and lessen the risk for lifestyle diseases.

Some people with acne experience an improvement when removing sugar from their diet. But it is not scientifically proven that a high consumption of sugar has anything to do with acne. If less consumption of sugar removed acne or not – I would always recommend that you should eat nuts and dried fruit instead of products with refined sugar.

There is no link between gluten and acne, so you should not worry about gluten making your acne worse. Again, it can be related to people eating a gluten cake that also contains sugar and saturated fat. But gluten itself has no proven negative effect when it comes to acne.

Also, it has not been proven scientifically that alcohol can cause acne. What often happens is that when people drink alcohol, the body simply dries out. The next day, the body will try to compensate for the lack of fluid by yearning for salty foods – because when we eat salt, we naturally become thirsty and therefore we will drink more water. So, many people will choose to eat salty and unhealthy foods, for example like pizza ad burgers, etc. Like our bodies naturally also reacts to stress (in this case because of lack of sleep) – which often is linked with alcohol and going clubbing.

I sincerely understand your frustration about your skin disorder and if my web site does not provide you with enough information, I would recommend that you read my cure for acne, which is my simple and very effective step-by-step programme for curing acne and blemishes, where you will receive:

  • Documented knowledge in a language that is easy to understand
  • An easy step-by-step guide
  • Video guides, where I will tell you and show you how to do the different steps
  • A list of products where you can see, which products you should use to treat your skin

I wish you the very best day of your life!
