Hi Mads,
First, I would like to applaud you and this web site – there’s really a lot of help to find.

I’m 22 years old and have had problems with my skin for the past 2-3 years. It’s never been really bad, but still enough for me to consider going to the doctor. And I did a year ago, and afterwards I starting a treatment with Clindoxyl. It really helped a lot on my problems.

I cleanse my skin every morning and evening. In the evening, usually with different cleansing products from Matas and then I put Clindoxyl on the affected spots. However, the situation now is that for the past 2-3 months I’ve started getting a few, but relatively big and sore blemishes. Since I don’t want to have a lot of scars, I decided to go to the doctor again. This time I got a prescription for Tetracycline and I have to take 1 tablet a day. I hope and expect that this will take care of the problem. But I ask my doctor if I should continue cleansing my skin twice a day and use moisturizer, currently I use Melisa AHA Fruit Complex crème. My doctor says that she thinks I should just take the pills and see what effect they have…

What is your recommendation?

I think that it’s still necessary to cleanse my skin to remove dirt and grime?

Thank you for the kind words about the Danish Skin Care web site. It is nice that I can help so many people with their skin questions and skin problems.

Tetracycline can help with blemishes and acne from “the inside”, but you should still use the correct skincare products for your blemishes. And also, you should in no way irritate or dry out your skin, but your skin still needs protections from both antioxidants and especially sunscreen during the day, so you will avoid premature aging, pigmentation and skin cancer.
