Question: “Acne and irritated skin”

Hi Mads,

I think that I, like you, have experienced that same product race that is a financial hell. I feel that I have sensitive skin and using less crème doesn’t seem to be enough. That is why I usually apply a thick layer on my face, and still it seems to be shining through, I think. I don’t use any cleansing products anymore, because I felt it just caused more irritation – I almost always have irritated skin right next to my nose underneath my eyes. How much and how should crème and other products be applied properly and could you please describe it in detail? :-) I don’t think that the manufacturers do that properly as it is (or it doesn’t seem to be very effective!).

Also, is it true that your skin can have breakouts when you exercise and sweat? I thought it could be the other way around, but it doesn’t seem to be like that.

Thanks in advance.

Br,
Henrik

Answer to: “Acne and irritated skin”

Hi Henrik,

Thank you for your letter. I am sorry to hear about your skin disorder.

It is difficult for me to give a specific answer on how much of a product you should use. Some products contain a lot of oils, some a little, etc. When you have an irritation in your skin it is important that your skincare products do not contain any irritating ingredients. Like for example perfume, dyes and ethereal oils (among these menthol, eucalyptus, lavender and camphor).

You write that your skin is having breakouts when you exercise. When we sweat, our skin is temporarily dried out, even if your face feels wet. So, remember to cleanse your face after exercising with a mild cleansing product and afterwards mild skincare products.
