I’ve discovered jojoba oil as a daily moisturizer. Is it correct that this oil won’t make my blemishes worse than they are right now – and is it non-comedogenic?
Thank you so much for your question! It is definitely relevant and in the past I have tried using different oils (including jojoba oil) as a moisturizer.
Blemishes appears when the pores in your skin are clogged, usually because of increased tallow production (which can be provokes by irritating skincare products, hormones, etc.).
By adding thick products to your skin, which jojoba oil is, it will only make your problem with blemishes worse. Always make sure to use as light products as possible and avoid using pure oils directly on your face.
Also, jojoba oil does not contain sunscreen, which is really necessary in day products.
Even if a dry skin type can have problems with acne, I still would not recommend to use pure oils.
You should NEVER choose skincare products just because they are non-comedogenic!
There are no guidelines for rating “non-comedogenic” products. Which means, that any product manufacturer can label their product non-comedogenic – without it being any safer for the customers.
I wish you an amazing day!
