The treatment your skin needs depends on your age

There are a lot skin-care products on market, targeting a certain age.

You have probably seen many of these.

Perhaps you have seen skin care for adult acne?

Perhaps you have been offered skin care that is great for those with wrinkles and aging skin?

Perhaps youโ€™ve tried skin-care products for teenage skin or acne-prone skin ?

Perhaps you have been sold a cream that is good for you in your 20s, 30s, 40s, or 50s?

You are being cheated!

Do not buy skinโ€“care products targeted for your age!

In fact, there is great risk that you will cause harm to your skin when you buy this type of skin-care product.

For example, skin-care products marketed for teens and people in their 20s are often developed for oily skin. Can you see the downside? If you have dry skin and are 20 years old, you will get only a little moisture. You are doing more harm than good.

Conversely,ย  skinโ€“care products for mature skin, adult acne, and for the treatment of wrinkles are usually very moisturizing.

The downside is that if you are 50 years old and have very oily skin,ย  you will have way too much moisture on your skin and there is great risk that the extra moisture will clog your skin and cause skin problems.

Exactly the same applies if you suffer from acne, have oily skin, and use products with much moisture. You will likely worsen your acne.

Not what you wanted, right?

What about the 80s?

There are very often skin-care products for the age groups 30, 40 and 50. But then it stops.

We never see skin-care products for people in the 60s, 70s, or 80s. Does a 63-year-old need to use the 50-year-old skin care? Or what?

Perhaps 63-year-olds do not use skin care? Perhaps 63-year-old cannot have dry or oily skin? Maybe you just stop thinking about your looks around the age of 50??

Should teenage boys who are late bloomers (you probably know a few) use skin care for teens longer?

And โ€ฆ

When do you change?

Do people in their 40s switch to using creams for people in their 50s on their 50th birthday? What happens if you have juuuust a little left in the jar of cream forย  the 40s, and continue to use it for three months after your 50th birthday??
