Question: “This is the skin care you need for pigmentation and discolored skin”

Hey Mads

I suffer from pigment changes in the skin and have had it for a while, possibly after severe sunburns. It started small and wasn’t so widespread, but over the last couple of months they have become darker and the pigmentation changes now fill a larger area. I particularly suffer from two large dark areas on the cheeks just under the eyes and it really bothers me a lot.

But I’m in doubt! How do I reduce or remove the pigment changes, as I’m incredibly sorry about them. They are very visible. Is it possible to use certain products or do you have to do more harsh treatments?

I really hope you can help me and answer my questions.

With best regards
Katrine

Answer to: “This is the skin care you need for pigmentation and discolored skin”

Hi, Katrine

I am extremely sorry to hear about your pigmentation problems. And of course I would like to help you! I have a friend who also struggled a lot with pigment damage after to many times in the solarium … and I really know how frustrating it can be … but it can be solved :-) However, I have to warn you already, the treatment of pigmentation damage takes time.

Overall, there are two solutions – in other words, solutions that work!

1) Laser treatment

2) Salicylic Acid Treatment – Also Known as Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA)

Both treatments should be combined with vitamin A … and of course sun protection.

In regards to laser treatments, you may need as many as 3 – 5 treatments. And I would definitely recommend that you wait 3 months between each treatment as the skin after a laser treatment becomes completely red (peel off) and the skin has to recuperate before you start with the next treatment.

The advantage of laser treatments is that you will pretty quickly see results – not necessarily a final result, but you will soon see improvements. 3 – 4 weeks after the first treatment you should already see a pretty good effect of the laser treatment. But you will need further treatments until everything is resolved.

The disadvantage of laser is that your skin 2 to 3 weeks after treatment will look really awful. So laser requires a lot of timing in relation to work, etc. You will look like someone who has been seriously burned. The skin will peel off, be red and it’s not nice …

In relation to salicylic acid, it is a product you use at home every evening. So it is a gentle daily treatment. It will probably take around 3 – 4 months before you see the same result as with the first laser treatment.

The advantage of salicylic acid is that the treatment won’t make your skin worse, and its is something you simply do at home – so the treatment is gentle and you will not see any worsening of the skin, over time you will only see improvements.

I can not help you with laser treatments – you need a dermatologist for such a treatment. And make sure to go to a dermatologist and do not choose a beautician, as there are a HUGE difference in the power of the laser they are allowed to use. And if you really want to see good results in regards to your pigmentation, then you should chose a dermatologist, because they can use more powerful lasers.

However, I can help you with GREAT daily skin care treatments – salicylic acid is in our treatment product Perfect Skin Power Treat. just like there are niacinamide, which will help to rebuild the skin and chamomile that will calm it.

Vitamin A, is in the Day Cream and Night Cream, and you even get sunscreen in the Day Cream!

So I would just recommend that you get a total skin care kit – there you get all the ingredients, vitamins and antioxidants you need, and you also get a cleaner to prepare the skin. So it af simple, gentle and effective skin care kit that you use to treat your skin – according to the following routine:

Morning:

– Perfect Skin Face Wash: A cleansing product that gently and efficiently removes dirt, grease and sweat. Wash the face (possibly under the shower), foam a little product into the hands and rub it in. Rinse with plenty of water and pat dry the face.

– Perfect Skin Day Protection: A day cream filled with good vitamins and minerals that will help to rebuild and protect the skin throughout the day. It also contains UVA / UVB filter.

Evening:

– Perfect Skin Face Wash: A cleansing product that gently and efficiently removes dirt, grease and sweat. Wash the face (possibly under the shower), foam a little product into the hands and rub it in. Rinse with plenty of water and pat dry the face.

– Perfect Skin Power Treat: A daily exfoliation that will effectively remove dead skin cells from your skin, thereby helping to smooth out bumps, wrinkles and remove discolourations / pigment changes. At the same time, the product has a really good effect against pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. The product is both calming, reparing and sedative. Use the product by dripping it on a a cotton pad (or in the palm of your hand) and rub it on the face.

– Perfect Skin Moisturizer: A night cream filled with good vitamins and minerals that will help to rebuild and protect your skin all night – and really boost your skin.
